Solar Plug-In Hybrids

Some ideas have been floating around as of late.

One idea is to have solar powered fans on the roof of every car which flows hot air through the parked vehicle. Thus, keeping the air from baking into oven temperatures. Think about the safety of small children and pets for a second.

To that end, every car on the road these days has some wasted pieces of real estate on them that have direct exposure to sunlight--the roof, hood, and trunk. ie. while every car sits in the parking lot at work for 8 or 9 hours every day the cars solar panels could be charging up batteries virtually making the drive home a gas free endeavor. Then, when you get home, you could plug your car in, and your ride to work could be gas free as well.

Exxon is not going to be happy about this.

By the way, I was watching an automotive show not too long ago, and there was a Saab prototype with a solar panel on the roof. It looks as if the automotive industry has people already moving in that direction already.

Think about it, if your car had solar panel hood, roof, and trunk, how much do you think that would improve efficiency? You, dear reader, could be driving down the road while having your radio and A/C powered by the sun, ergo more gas or battery power could be used to propel the car. That's freakin' genius, and I didn't dream it up, but I am writing about it.
