It's in the Music

Every night I drive home listening to music. Every night I am offended by the music I hear. It's not the rhythms or the beats it's the lyrics. The beats and rhythms kickass. It's the lyrics that are the problem. The lyrics are either pornographic, narcissistic, self loathing, or just plain dumb. Only about 1 out of 10 songs is any good. Frankly, if it weren't for that one decent song once in a while I would probably only listen to NPR or something. It's kind of pathetic and a little sad because I like listening to music that makes me feel good. Only once in a blue moon a Hip Hop artist or Alternative Rock star makes a song that doesn't suck. The music is a reflection of what is going on the artists mind. What's in the artist's mind is a reflection of society in general. So, may I suggest that we, as a society, are generally pornographic, narcissistic, self loathing, and dumb. Would that be too far of a stretch? It's about time to make a few big changes in this country. Changes which would turn things around in the hearts and minds of Americans which would make them not quite as "low minded." Otherwise, I fear, I will have to keep listening to crappy music.
Just to let you know, I know what I'm talking about, look at U2's song "Beautiful Day." It rocks! It has a deep spiritually uplifting message as well. How often is song that pure played on the radio.
So, here are some things to think about that the next time your thinking of contributing $16 for a CD to the cause of some potentially low minded loser band. Are they pornographic, narcissistic, self loathing or dumb? Does that band even have a political view? Is the band only out to make money? What does that say about you if you are NOT thinking about these things when you are buying? Are you just a mindless consumer who sends your money to whoever markets to you?

As every morning I woke up today wondering what the day' ll be like...I took my breakfast , turn on the radio nothing saucy enough for me...switch on my pc and my yahooo msg ...

Breaking News , my friend Jeffery updated is blog... Great here is something to do for the next couple of minutes...

So what was the content of this new blog article ?

Music and crap we are listening everyday on radio...

Well bring it on , tell me about that ... I know what Jeff , I , you think about it . We all agree Music on the radio sucks!!!

In France , the thinkers think and complain about the fact that french songs are always too complicated , that there is only the real meaning of the words and message which is important and that in the US it s much more simple because in the US the melody is much more important than lyrics cause it doesn't matter much...

Well Jeffery seems to have a complete different view of things and guess what he is american ...

You probably remember that song of Donell Jones : Hey You know wassup ....This song rocks very good vibes nice melody nice rythm but inexistant lyrics and yet it 's a smashing international hit record, in france , in Europe , in North America...In every place around the globe where there is potentially a radio media and where one could be a potential song buyer...

What Jeffery named as rubbish music I ll name it MARKETING ...
I dont think there is any difference between Donnell Jones , P Diddy , J Lo or U2, they all have a consumer target and they do what they have to do to reach that target ...

Everyone knows that the record labels rule the radio media and that they are the one who decide what we will be listening tommorrow, what will be the trend and make you believe that somehow we made that choice...

So to a certain extent I agree whith Jeffery music is a reflection of our society but it's only a reflection it's not the REALITY. To do not quote MTV I ll say : YOU THINK YOU KNOW BUT YOU HAVE NO IDEA does it ring bells?
It says it all...

Music to me is a emotions generator and my favorite one is movie soundtrack because it is a very good mixture of various music style throught the times...

Music does not make an artist and an artist does not make the music .

So next time you think of buying a cd ask yourself :

1. Is it an artist or a performer or an entertainer ?
2. Did he wrote the song himself or did he pick from a song book borough to the record label?

3. What king of emotion this music will give me ?

4.Is it a cd I ll listen in 2 year time with the same enthousiasm?

98% of the music we listen do not meet those requirements. But how would we be able to differ crap from non crap if we don t listen to crap anymore?

We just need to be aware.. Like every good thing in life you have to hunt and fight for it when you find it the pleasure is doubled...cause it will last for ever...

Jeffery I like a lot U2 but still won t buy any cd from them because I think it s a great thing to have political wiews such as BONO does at the end of the day those views only serve him and his band ...why does it continue to sell cds when he has money that would last more than a life time ...he could just give half of the money he makes to serve his politics views, help other but he doesn t do that ...
Unless I am mistaken what s the point then ?

Tell me what you think ....
